Year 7 Enrolment Process and Timeline
Year 7 Enrolment Process and Timeline
Prior to the Open Night, the Principal visits Year 6 classes in local Catholic schools and provides Enrolment Packs containing the Enrolment Form and other information for each student. The Principal also invites the Year 6 families to the Open Night. The Open Night is also advertised in the local media and Parish and School Bulletins.
Open Night – Held in early March each year
Mater Dei Catholic College Open Night will be held in early March each year. Families are invited to see student learning in action, view the College’s excellent facilities, meet the staff and learn about the enrolment process amidst the warmth and friendliness of the College community. It is an opportunity for prospective students and parents to experience first hand the unique learning environment at Mater Dei. Tours of the College facilities are conducted from 6:00pm with time for music and refreshments in the Peace Garden courtyard and an information session to conclude the evening.
New Secondary Parents’ Morning Teas
We recognise that first time parents of a Year 7 student may have additional questions about the transition into Mater Dei and life as a secondary student. The Principal is available during selected times in March to answer questions and address any concerns at a parent morning tea in March. Groups are kept small and personal and offer a relaxed opportunity to meet the principal. Bookings are made through the College Office.
Wednesday 6 March - Enrolment Applications Open.
Enrolment Application Forms are forwarded to the College, together with copies of the supporting documents listed on the Form.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 19 March, Thursday 21 March and Wednesday 27 March at the College from 3:30pm to 7:00pm for prospective families who have forwarded an Enrolment Application. The interview is attended by the student and his/her parents.
Parents/Carers book an enrolment interview online using the SOBS on-line booking system for the upcoming Year 7 2019 interviews. This system is efficient and allows parents to make their bookings conveniently and independently.
Once bookings are made, you are able to print your schedule, and also send a confirmation e-mail to yourself. Bookings can also be amended at a later date. Bookings will be able to be made online from Wednesday, 6 March and will close 24 hours before each interview date. Parents who do not have internet access can contact the College and we will enter your requests.
Instructions on how to access the site can be found here.

Term 4 Year Parent Meeting and Orientation Process for Students
In October, correspondence will be sent to all families who have confirmed enrolment for the following year. This correspondence will have information about the Parent Information Night held in late November and the Student Orientation Day held on the first Friday in December. It also includes information regarding the start of the new school year.
Various forms, including medical forms will be distributed to students at Orientation Day or by mail if they are not at Orientation Day. These forms are to be completed and returned to the school prior to the student's first day of classes.
